The first Christmas is the one people photograph from four angles and remember badly. This glossy ceramic heart in pink is the part that survives it: "Baby's First Christmas."

Hand pressed in the USA with the graphic fused under a glossy glaze, built to come out of the box every December for twenty years. New parents, first-time grandparents, a December baby, a baby shower in October: this is the one.

Why You'll Love It

Marks the first Christmas without printing a year that dates it
Soft pink colourway on a glossy white ceramic heart
Glossy ceramic, hand pressed - a keepsake, not a foil bauble
Permanently fused graphic that survives twenty Decembers in storage
2.875" heart, substantial enough to feel like a gift on its own
Light enough for a branch, sturdier than glass in a house with a toddler
Designed and hand pressed in the USA

Perfect Gift For

New parents and first-time grandparents, baby showers, a December or January baby, adoption celebrations, godparents, aunts and uncles buying their first Christmas gifts for the baby, a first Christmas home after the NICU, and anyone who has been waiting a long time for this one. It is the first of the Christmas ornaments that belongs to the child rather than the house, and it outlasts the rest of the Christmas decor by twenty years.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Does this ornament have the year on it?
A: No, and that is intentional. A year-printed ornament is unusable if the baby arrives in January or the ornament is bought a season ahead - this one works whenever the first Christmas actually lands.

Q: Can I add the baby's name?
A: This version is not personalized, which is what lets it ship immediately in December. If you want the name on it, write it on the back of the gift box or pair it with a card.

Q: Is it safe around a baby or a toddler?
A: It is a ceramic ornament rather than a toy and should be hung out of reach like any tree ornament. It is sturdier than glass, but it is not childproof.

Q: What is the difference between the pink and blue versions?
A: Only the colourway - the wording, size, material and construction are identical. Many customers buy both for twins.

Q: Is this a good baby shower gift?
A: It works well at a shower because it is small, needs no size or registry, and marks something ahead of them rather than something they already have.

Q: Will the print fade over the years?
A: The graphic is fused beneath the glaze rather than printed on the surface, which is why it does not scratch or fade. Wrapped in tissue between seasons, it looks the same in year twenty.
