Some friends do not need weekly maintenance and are somehow always there anyway. This ceramic heart carries the line: "Good Friends Are Like Stars You Don't Always See Them But You Know They Are There."

Hand pressed in the USA with the graphic fused under a glossy glaze, it goes back on the tree year after year. The friend on night shifts, the one who travels constantly, the one who always answers: this is the one.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What is a good gift for a friend you rarely get to talk to?
A: Pick something that says the silence was never the problem, and say it in words rather than expecting her to infer it. This ornament does that in one sentence.

Q: Is this ornament breakable?
A: It is fired ceramic, so it will not survive a hard fall onto tile, but it is considerably tougher than a thin blown bauble. Wrapped in tissue it stores and ships without trouble.

Q: What do you give a friend who is always there for you?
A: Name the thing she does rather than buying a generic present. A keepsake that spells out the showing-up is worth more than a bigger gift with no message on it.

Q: What is a good white elephant gift for a group of friends?
A: Something small, nice and non-embarrassing is what actually gets fought over at a friends' white elephant. A ceramic ornament with a warm line beats a novelty item nobody keeps.

Q: Is an ornament a good gift for a friend who works nights or travels a lot?
A: It asks nothing of her, which is the point for someone whose schedule is already full. It hangs itself on a tree in December and requires no maintenance.

Q: How do you pick a gift for a friend whose taste you do not know?
A: Avoid anything she has to wear, display daily or match to a room. A single sentimental ornament sidesteps taste entirely and still reads as personal.
